Description/The Office's Mission

Office 15 is responsible for the management of fixed odds betting and, for horse racing only, totaliser betting via the same sales channels, as well as any other games of a similar nature, identified by deed of the Director General; in particular:

• It provides for the exercise of the games assigned to the Office, directly or through concessionaires;
• On the basis of the regulations in force and possible concession deeds, it defines the quality and security standards, the requisites for and the offer of the sales points network; it updates the betting products offer, prepares the daily programme schedule, and maintains relations with the bodies which organise the events;
• In accordance with office 10, it provides for the inquiries and management of the selection procedures contemplated for the granting of concessions;
• It also provides for the activities necessary for the execution of the games within its competence, managing the financial flows, the accounting, the purchases and payments, and updates the central information systems also through the local offices;
• It manages relations deriving from the concessions, especially as regards the verification of the concessionaires' obligations; it manages cases of litigation relative to administration and jurisdiction;
• It carries out the action deemed necessary relative to illegalities and irregularities detected and reported to Office 6 for the relative analyses and the successive proposals of general measures to counter such phenomena;
• It checks turnover and revenue relative to the products within its competence;
• In accordance with Office 4, it carries out relevant market and gaming trends analyses; it updates the strategic information system with data on products within its competence;
• It prepares proposals for improvements in terms of both product engineering and sales points networks;
• It manages both advertising for the products within its competence and that aimed at user protection;
• It monitors the activities of any suppliers of services to the concessionaires;
• It manages the practical aspects of relations with the category associations.
