Description/The Office's Mission

Office 8 is responsible for preparing general regulations and, in particular:

• It draws up regulatory proposals and administrative provisions, of a general nature, relative to the gaming and manufactured tobacco sectors;
• In accordance with the competent Directorates, it proposes measures to simplify and rationalize the fields of gaming and manufactured tobacco;
• It compares national legislation with international legislation on gaming and manufactured tobacco and proposes, with the support of Office 4 and Office 6, developments and improvements;
• It organises and manages the documents archive relative to regulations;
• In accordance with the competent Directorates, it provides useful elements for deeds relative to Parliamentary questioning, guidelines and deeds on questions of constitutional legitimacy relative to the matters falling within the competence of AAMS;
• It issues guidelines on the management of litigations involving the gaming and manufactured tobacco sectors;
• It monitors the answers given by the Directorates and the local offices relative to ordinary questioning, referred to in art. 11 of law no. 212 of 27 July 2000, without prejudice to the issue of the decree of the Minister of Economy and Finance, adopted pursuant to art. 17, paragraph 3, of law no. 400 of 23 August 1988, on the determination of the bodies, the procedures and the exercise of questioning and on the obligation to answer on the part of the AAMS.
